Holman was a consultant for The Hymn Book published in by the Anglican and United churches of Canada. His compositions include commissioned works for the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Ontario Choral Federation, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, the Canadian Brass and the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus. Howard Dyck, CM is a Canadian conductor and broadcaster. He was born in Winkler, Manitoba. Based in Waterloo, Ontario, he has had a long and distinguished career in classical music. He is the Artistic Director Emeritus of the Grand Philharmonic Choir and chamber singers and is the Conductor Emeritus of the Bach Elgar Choir of Hamilton. He currently serves as the Artistic Director of Consort Caritatis .
He is a recipient of the Gigax Faculty Scholarship Award at Baldwin Wallace University (), the American Bach Society’s William H. Scheide Fellowship (), two American Choral Directors Association’s Awards (, ), and the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors’ Book . Donald provided the concluding chapter to a recent book on Canadian choral conductors- In Their Own Words- Canadian Choral Conductors by Holly Higgens Jonas. In it he discusses such topics as copyright, composing/arranging, commissioning, Canadian choral identity, and choir loyalty. The book, from Dundurn Press, is available from music retailers.
